Apple Cherry Hard Cider


Based on a recipe by fellow DC Homebrewer Andrei Henry. Just in time for Fall.

0.50 gallon Trader Joe's Macintosh 100% Apple Juice
1.00 gallon Giant brand 100% Apple Juice
1.00 gallon Whole Foods Brand 100% Apple Juice
1.00 gallon Harris Teeter brand 100% Apple Juice
0.25 gallon Trader Joe's 100% Cherry Juice
1.00 can Giant brand 100% Apple Juice concentrate
0.50 gallon water
2.00 lbs Brown Sugar

Yeast:
Bootleg Biology Arlington (Saccharomyces Arlingtonesis) 

Notes:
  • Brewed 10/06/2013
  • Pitched yeast at 75F
  • Fermented in living room
  • We plan to save and wash the Arlington yeast and use it for future cider/mead recipes.
  • 10/21/2013: Racked into secondary with 2 tsp. of pectic enzyme.
    • Washed and saved two pint jars of Arlington yeast, now designated as cider only yeast
